7U OKC Broncos Baseball Team Info

We are pleased to announce a new team being added to the OKC Broncos baseball organization. The 7U OKC Broncos will begin in fall of 2017 and play in the Putnam City Optimist (PCO) youth baseball league. While this organization exists primarily to provide competitive baseball opportunities for homeschooled athletes. 

Age cut-off: Players are eligible if they will be 7 years old or younger as of May 1, 2018.

Sign up deadline: As soon as possible! Final rosters need to be submitted by August 18, 2017. We still have a few limited spots left.

Time Commitment: We will keep it to 2 nights per week for the fall. Practices will begin August 7.

Cost: $45 max uniform cost. Jersey and hat (mandatory) are $28. Players who already have gray pants, navy socks, and/or navy belt are not required to purchase new. For this fall we are not assessing player fees, contributions towards team expenses up to $15/player will be accepted but not required.

Practices: Mondays & Thursdays – 6pm – Metropolitan Baptist Church. Once games begin, practices will be reduced in order to keep the commitment to 2 nights per week.

A Word from the Coaches

Thanks for your interest in our new coach pitch team. It is an honor for us as coaches to be able to invest in the lives of your young men through the game of baseball.

The OKC Broncos organization exists to provide an opportunity for home school young men to play competitive baseball. But the organization is committed to more than just winning games. “Fun” will be a huge part of what we do. Baseball is fun. If the day comes where baseball isn’t fun, then something is wrong. But fun is not the only reason we come to the diamond.

We see baseball as an opportunity for players to experience the joy of working hard for something and achieving it. Along the way, they can develop character such as teamwork, respect, hard work, sportsmanship, and more. Our role as coaches is to be a part of making your son a better athlete on the field, and a better person off of it. Our goal is that in baseball, and in life, our players will seek to give their best in everything they do in order to glorify God.

We will not be a team where coaches yell at players for making a mistake, where parents are allowed to scream at the umpire from the bleachers, and where kids are cut from the team or put on the bench because they just aren’t good enough. We will be a team where players are coached, nurtured, and pushed to become the best ballplayers that they can be. As long as a player is working hard, listening to his coaches, and giving his best, he will have a spot on our team.
